About Ankoan Tea House

Ankoan is a small tea house in Kita-ku, Kyoto, 3 minutes on foot from Daitoku-ji Temple. We offer hands-on Japanese culture experiences for visitors from overseas, taught directly in English and Chinese.

Our experiences

Matcha tea ceremony: 90 minutes, from ¥5,500 (tax included)
Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging): 90 minutes, from ¥8,800 (tax included)
Kimono experience: from ¥3,500 (tax included)

Languages

Your teacher speaks both English and Chinese and teaches every session directly in your language. No interpreter is needed, so you can ask questions freely. You can also contact us in Japanese, English or Chinese.

Group or private

You can join a session with other guests. Private sessions are available on request by email or through our contact form.
