FAQ

Answers to common questions about tea ceremony and ikebana experiences at Ankoan.

What language is the experience in?

Your teacher speaks English and Chinese and guides you directly, with no interpreter. We match each session to the guests: English if all guests speak English, Chinese if all speak Chinese, and both if there are guests of both. If you would like a session with only your own group, we recommend a private plan.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

Matcha tea ceremony: 90 minutes, from ¥5,500 (tax included), starting at 10:00, 12:30 or 15:00. Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging): 90 minutes, from ¥8,800 (tax included), starting at 11:30 or 14:00.

Do I need to book?

Can I join on my own?

You do not need to bring anything. Wearing socks is best, but it is no problem if you do not.

I have a food allergy.

If you have a food allergy, such as to nuts, please tell us when you arrive at Ankoan.

Is it OK for vegetarians?

Is it accessible by wheelchair or with a stroller?

How do I pay?
